Aquarion Water Company Begins Route 106 Utility Work on December 2
Aquarion Water Company will commence work installing utility pipes across Route 106 at the Old Boston Road intersection starting Monday, December 2, 2024, weather permitting.
Road Closures and Detours:
- Route 106 will be closed to through traffic between Old Boston Road and Old Kings Highway.
- A detour route will be in place, allowing one lane of alternating traffic through the intersection. Drivers are advised to follow detour signs.
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, from approximately 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
- The project is expected to take 3–4 weeks to complete.
Traffic Management:
- Traffic control will be in place to ensure the safety of drivers and construction workers. Please follow their instructions.
- Consider using alternate routes to avoid delays.
Additional Information:
- All bus stops will remain in their current locations.
- Emergency vehicles will have immediate access through the construction zone.
- The State of Connecticut will oversee the project. If you have urgent questions during construction, please contact the State inspector.
