Having written songs for the likes of Bob Seger, Etta James, the Grateful Dead, and John Denver, Rodney Crowell is truly the songwriter’s songwriter. Calling all R.E.M. fans! The Baseball Project is a supergroup composed of R.E.M.’s Peter Buck, Scott McCaughey, Mike Mills, Linda Pitmon, and Steve Wynn (of The Dream Syndicate). The group formed in 2007 after R.E.M. was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; their debut album, Volume 1: Frozen Ropes and Dying Quails, was released that same year. Three studio albums later, The Baseball Project has become well-loved for their brilliant, catchy, and historically accurate songs of baseball lore and oddball characters.
