Why Small Businesses Matter

Meet Natacha Rousseau, founder of Diplomatiq.

Why did you start your business?

I started Diplomatiq (www.diplomatiq.io) when I was living in Los Angeles, California (2016-2020), to support entrepreneurs building applications in the deep tech sector (climate tech, blockchain, AI, digital health). I noticed that technical innovation is challenging to understand and wanted to clarify solutions to real problems so that the layman could understand. During the pandemic, I moved to Santa Barbara and my business grew to support nonprofits and underserved communities. That work led me to live and work in San Francisco and once it was safe to meet in person again, served the tech and entrepreneurial communities again. I moved back to Connecticut in 2024 and now provide services to the sustainability and climate tech sector, which is my passion.

What is your best-selling product/service?

I write for several publications, including Forbes, Earth, Entrepreneur magazine and soon Inc. magazine. The ability to demystify complex technical things and explain them clearly is what has been working well for me.

Have you reimagined your small business?

Yes, many times (as described above). Today, I am directly supporting entrepreneurs, startups, and organizations focused on climate, resilience, and plant and soil health.
