Why did you start your business?
I started my business in 2010 as I was struggling to recover from chronic Lyme. I was so ill that I lost my job and my apartment and had to move from Florida back home to my parent's house to recover. I still needed an income, so as I was recovering I began scouring the local thrift shops for items that I could double or triple my profit on by selling on eBay. As I sold more and more, I began consigning items for friends and it grew to white-glove service in Fairfield County. After years of selling for others and also working in local consignment shops, I recognized a need for another brick-and-mortar shop in Westport.
Best selling products or services?
Dresses are our number one seller, but handbags and shoes aren't far behind!
Have you “reimagined” your small business?
I've only been in my Westport shop now for five months, so what I would "reimagine" is really just physical at this point: a slightly larger space with a stock room or storage. However, I do love this space because all my neighbors are so sweet and the location is super busy. All good!
