Uber Connecticut today opened its newest Greenlight Hub in Stamford with a celebratory ribbon cutting attended by leading business, advocacy, and local officials including Thomas Madden, Director of Economic Development for the City of Stamford.
The Greenlight Hub, which is Uber’s newest resource center, will serve as a central help facility for Uber’s driver-partners in Connecticut and fulfill several additional functions, including spaces for training seminars, consultation services for current drivers on work related issues, and assistance for individuals interested in becoming drivers. Additional spaces will allow drivers to see Uber representatives and outside vendors on matters including insurance, vehicle maintenance discounts, phone service, and more. The Greenlight Hub will also include complimentary coffee and parking spaces.
“Drivers are our customers, and this new Greenlight Hub is designed to put their needs front and center,” said Matt Powers, General Manager for Uber in Connecticut. “We’re also excited to set down roots here in Stamford, as part of our broader commitment to Connecticut.”
“This new drivers hub is a major accomplishment for Uber, and I believe it will only help them innovate and accomplish more in our state,” said Krebs. “Uber has become a staple in the community in a short time, and together we've made real progress in our shared mission of safer Connecticut streets."
Uber currently operates approximately 75 Greenlight Hubs throughout the United States, along with around 200 facilities where they provide additional in-person support to driver-partners. The Stamford building is projected to see over 600 people per month.
