Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT BonJo Coffee Roasters!

Three questions with Marcella Bonaiuto, owner of BonJo Coffee Roasters.

Why did you start your business?

We started this business with a passion that unveiled itself after Joseph Bonaiuto smelled his grandmothers roasted coffee from a mile down the road on a walk home from school one day.  The scent never left his nose or memory which in turn made him spend his life dedicated to creating the same experience to share with others.  Joseph learned the Italian roasting style and brought it here to America and lives his life practicing all the traditions of coffee that have been handed down to him from the generations. Customers love our House BB Blend (Filtered Drip Coffee) and the Miscela Bar Espresso Blend. People have really responded to these two products both in the cafe/retail and on the wholesale side of the business. We really feel that both those products cater to diverse palates.

Finish this sentence in regard to your business. “I wish I could…”

I wish I could educate everyone with the knowledge I have and bring our product across the nation for everyone to try.  We have a uniqueness in our coffee - it really makes your palate go on a coffee journey!  Coffee is so vast and there is no much to learn and its best experience with others.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

We try to keep our business as local as possible. We source approximately 20 different vendors locally from pastries to bottles to even the gas we use for our nitrogen infused coffee. We love Revas Outrageous Cookies, Ingenuities, and Wades Dairy as some of our local cafe vendors.
