Can you dig it? Welcome to the amazing world of animals who love “digging” into nature! Alligator snapping turtles, leopard tortoises, Colorado River toads, African bullfrogs, three-banded armadillos and even spectacled owls are some of the earth’s greatest diggers. Some dig to lay their eggs, find or hide food, escape the extremes of heat and cold, or to build permanent underground homes. Their efforts also have huge benefits to their habitats by creating shelter for other creatures, tilling the soil, and even planting seeds of important plants and trees. Guests will get a special meet and greet with a variety of animals like a young African sulcata tortoise, an Indian sand boa, a soft-shelled turtle, a ferret and more as we explore the subterranean realm and the animals who call it home!
