Muse Squad is bringing two literary classics to life this fall in Ridgefield.
Calling all local kids and teens! Do you enjoy writing for fun, or wish you had more time to get into it? Then Muse Squad’s creative writing program at Ridgefield Parks & Recreation is for you!
Muse Squad is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based out of Ridgefield, Connecticut that has been bringing creative writing workshops, summer camps, and after-school clubs to towns across Connecticut and New York since its founding in 2022. This fall, Muse Squad will be launching two new after-school programs to be held at the Ridgefield Parks & Recreation Center. One is for kids aged 8-12, and another for teens aged 13+. The class gathers once weekly for a 90-minute session and pairs the study of excerpts from a selected text with the instruction of various literary techniques and time for free-writing.
Muse Squad’s 2024 fall programs will both meet on Wednesdays at the Ridgefield Parks & Recreation Center. The junior class is from 4:45 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. and the teen class is from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. The courses are in session October 2 - December 11. Classes conclude with a Final Reading and reception. Our youth program delves into George MacDonald’s 1872 novel, The Princess and the Goblin, while our teen program follows the iconic characters in Lewis Carroll’s 1865 fantasy story, Alice’s Adventure’s In Wonderland. Students will explore passages and focus on excerpts and inspired lessons, as we move chronologically through each book.
