Why did you start your business?
It all started in 2014 with a garbage truck cake for my son’s third birthday. After that came a unicorn for my daughter and by 2016, I had graduated to a cake for a family wedding; Stacey’s Totally Baked was born that weekend. At first, it was just a fun side thing to do but over the years I gained a steady group of customers and found it more rewarding them day job. So I left my corporate job to focus on growing Stacey’s Totally Baked, within a year we opened our retail space and kitchen at 113 Danbury Road, Ridgefield.
What is your best-selling product/service?
My top sellers include my Babka, both chocolate and cinnamon; cookies and, of course, my cakes and cupcakes as they can be any flavor and customized/personalized for any occasion.
We have had to shift our focus from pre-order only to retail. Our customers have given us great feedback helping guide us to a better retail experience such as our back-to-school week and breakfast-themed desserts week. Our goal is to balance keeping customer favorites in stock and also having something new and different to keep things interesting.
