The Benjamin Executive Chef to Demo Signature Dish on TODAY Show

The Benjamin Restaurant in Ridgefield just announced that Executive Chef Ben Traver will be featured on NBC’s TODAY Show this Tuesday, January 9th, during the 9am hour with Craig, Shenelle, Dylan and AL Roker. 

Chef Ben will be demonstrating the restaurant’s signature, Olive Oil Poached Halibut.

About Chef Ben:

Executive Chef, Benjamin Traver graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. At the end of his culinary arts studies, he landed a position at Cafe Boulud, a Michelin Starred restaurant in New York inspired by Chef Daniel Boulud. Ben steadily climbed the ranks and learned the intricacies of working in a traditional French kitchen from meat and fish cook to Entremetier and Garde Manger.

Later, Ben was hired as Chef dePartie at The Modern, a 2 Michelin starred contemporary American Restaurant at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. Eventually, he went on to become Head Chef at L’Accolade, a French restaurant in NYC and Chef de Cuisine at Chez Nick, a New American restaurant on the Upper East Side.

In his role as Executive Chef at The Benjamin in Ridgefield, Ben is responsible for menu development, ordering fresh ingredients, training and managing back of house staff and of course overseeing the kitchen. His high level of professionalism and attention to detail are essential traits in maintaining a smooth work environment. Chef Ben’s flair for delivering unique dishes will please the most sophisticated palates.
