Sunrise Café at the Meetinghouse is set to open in Spring 2024, marking a significant milestone for the Ridgebury area of Ridgefield. For the first time, residents in this part of town will have a café in their neighborhood. Located inside the Martinson Barn on the campus of the Meetinghouse at 602 – 605 Ridgebury Road., this café is the brainchild of Meetinghouse founder and visionary Deborah Rundlett, pastor of Ridgebury Congregational Church.
At the helm of the Cafe is Wooster Hollow Cafe owner Ron Herman. “Last year, I got involved with the Meetinghouse community center because I believed in the importance of creating safe places to gather and grow as friends & neighbors. As the reconstruction progressed, it became clear that the Meetinghouse was the perfect location for a Coffeehouse with a higher purpose,” says Herman. Sunrise Cafe will donate all profits to local charities,
The Sunrise Cafe will be open every day from 7 am to 5 pm, offering a menu featuring coffee, baked goods, sandwiches, soups, and salads. The cafe will be managed by the team at Wooster Hollow Cafe, known for their excellent food and friendly service.
The Meetinghouse is more than just a historic building on the corner; it is a place dedicated to nourishing the body, mind, and soul. Described as 'one house, many rooms,' it offers a variety of spaces and activities to enrich the community of Ridgefield and the surrounding areas. From art galleries to a tranquil outdoor path, the Meetinghouse aims to be a creative and inclusive hub for all.
