Six Ridgefield storytellers will share stories at The Ridgefield Theater Barn

Six Ridgefield storytellers will share personal stories at the Ridgefield Theater Barn (RTB) on Sunday, April 27, at The Steeple: It’s Only a Number. This first-of-its-kind event, part of a year-long celebration of the 300th anniversary of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, is in partnership with the Ridgefield Theater Barn.

In the RTB’s intimate setting, three storytellers from St. Stephen’s and three from the community at large will tell tales of hopes, dreams, significant milestones, or a surprising truth. The format is based on the Moth Radio Hour, which airs on 500 radio stations globally, including WSHU in Connecticut and WNYC in New York City. The Steeple event begins at 5 p.m. with BYO dinner and drinks, and at 6 p.m. the stories begin. It closes with dessert catered by Á Table and conversation among the storytellers and guests. Peter Bachmann and Michael Altopp, both members of St. Stephen’s, are the evening’s emcees. Recently Mr. Bachmann has told stories at events in Fairfield County and at Moth StorySLAMs in Brooklyn.

“St. Stephen’s is pleased and grateful to be partnering with the RTB with a common goal of telling our stories more widely,” said Mr. Bachmann. “We would also like to thank Bonnie Levison, a coach with Moth Works, a division of The Moth, who is working with us on the event.”  Pamme Jones, executive director of RTB added: “We are thrilled to co-produce The Steeple: It’s Only a Number. Our recent expansion has made it possible for us to become a true community arts space and to partner with St. Stephen’s in honoring their 300th.” Tickets are $35, which includes a handling fee. They may be purchased from the Ridgefield Theater Barn here
