Ridgefield Weather: Winter Storm Saturday into Sunday, More Snow Next Week!

The snow is coming! According to the National Weather Service (NWS) the snow is expected to develop late Saturday afternoon (January 6) and will be heavy at times through 2:00 am on Sunday. The intensity of the snowfall will lighten after 2:00 am and end on Sunday afternoon.

Here are some highlights from the NWS:

- Winter Storm Warning for Interior portions of NE NJ, LoHud Valley, and SW CT

- Total Snowfall: 5 to 9” likely, 10-12” (worst case) and is expected to be highest for interior LoHud. 

-  Snowfall Rates: 1”/hr expected 5pm to 2am

 - Temperatures: Upper 20s/Lower 30s

 - Winds: North to Northeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts 25 mph.

- Impacts: Snow covered roads late Saturday into Sunday with scattered downed tree limbs and wires likely.

There is also a major storm system developing late Tuesday into Wednesday!
