On what should have been Tess Michaelsen's 25th birthday celebration weekend with friends and family at her parent's Ridgefield restaurant, Bartolo, she is currently at Mass General Hospital in Boston, bravely battling a rare form of cancer called Exterior-Axial Chordoma.
Tomorrow, Saturday, March 9, marks Tess's 25th birthday. In a heartfelt gesture, her Aunt, Nancy Burke, who also works at Bartolo, has set up a birthday bin at the restaurant, located at 103 Danbury Road (the Marketplace at Copps Hill). Tess has deep roots in Ridgefield and the hope is that residents and friends will shower this warrior with love during this difficult time.
"My hope is Tess receives an outpouring of birthday cards and is enveloped in the love, support, and encouragement of the Ridgefield community," said Burke, whose brother Art and sister-in-law Julia own Bartolo.
Tess's journey has been one of remarkable achievements. She graduated with honors from Xavier University and recently completed graduate school at Boston University. She has secured a job at Tufts University which awaits Tess when she regains her health and strength.
If you are unable to stop by Bartolo (we know it's short notice) prayers and healing vibes are so very much appreciated.
Stay strong, Tess. Ridgefield loves you!
