
Residents of Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, Kent, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Sherman, Weston, and Wilton are invited to safely dispose of household hazardous waste at a special drop-off event on Saturday, September 7, 2024. The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Ridgefield High School, located at 700 N Salem Road, Ridgefield.
This event is a great opportunity for residents to safely get rid of items that cannot be disposed of with regular household trash, such as chemicals, pesticides, and other potentially harmful materials.
Important Protocols for the Event:
- Stay in Your Vehicle: For safety reasons, all attendees must remain in their vehicles at all times during the event.
- Prepare Your Items: Place the items you wish to dispose of at the back of your vehicle for easy access.
- Proof of Residency: Be ready to show your driver’s license as proof of residency in one of the participating towns.
- Efficient Service: Workers at the event will remove the hazardous materials from your vehicle. Wait times may vary between 5 to 30 minutes, depending on the volume of traffic, so please plan accordingly.
- Vehicle Inspections: The HRRA reserves the right to inspect vehicles with excessive amounts of material. Large quantities may be subject to additional fees. For guidance, residents can contact the HRRA at Info@hrra.org.
