Deep Sleep Meditation Instruction Returns to St. Stephen’s

Joy Hoffman, a certified Yoga Nidra and Yoga Therapist who has taught throughout the U.S. and abroad, is bringing her Deep Sleep Meditation instruction to St. Stephen’s North Hall on Sunday, July 28, 7 p.m.-8:15 p.m. The public is welcome, no experience is necessary, and it is designed for all ages. Deep Sleep Meditation is composed of a series of breath, body and awareness techniques that progressively relax participants into deeper brain wave patterns.  Because of its restorative effects on the body, mind and spirit, one hour of this practice is comparable to 3-4 hours of deep sleep. It is especially beneficial to those who feel overwhelmed and always on the go or those practicing intense or competitive sports.  There are no yoga poses, only reclining on one’s back.

Joy Hoffman’s passion in life is to educate adults and children to live a calm, tranquil and happy life by feeling whole, happy and grounded through Deep Sleep Meditation. She also uses this practice as a technique for grief, tragedy and recovery, and for over 12 years has worked in the Sandy Hook community.  What participants will need: 2-3 blankets, a yoga mat (let us know if you need one, and it will be supplied), an eye pillow or washcloth and an optional bolster for under your knees.    Registration is required, and a $20 donation is requested. Please register at https://onrealm.org/StStephensChurc/PublicRegistrations/Event?linkString=NjY5Njc2NzItMzUzOC00ODIyLWI3NzctYjFhODAwZDAyZjRm
