New Cell Tower Coming to Ridgefield Golf Course

In a new newsletter to residents titled "Inside Town Hall",  the Town of Ridgefield announced, "Better Service is on the Way!" By better "service" the Town means that a cell tower will soon be placed on the ground of Ridgefield Golf Course. Residents voted to approve the Homeland Cell Tower during a Special Town Meeting earlier this month.

Golfers Rejoice! Better cell service is headed your way.

At the October 11th Special Town Meeting, Ridgefield residents voted to approve the Homeland Cell Tower Lease Agreement, authorizing a cell phone tower to be placed at the Ridgefield Golf Course. The tower will fill a void that has hindered cell phone use for golfers, staff, and many residents in the Ridgebury area. Most importantly, the tower will address the critical need for immediate communication from the golf course during emergencies.

The location of the tower, which will be at the back corner of the parking lot, has been carefully considered. Homeland Towers worked closely with General Manager & Head Golf Pro Frank Sergiovanni on a location that would not interfere with the day-to-day happenings at the course or potential future plans.

The next step is for Homeland Towers is to recruit a carrier to lease the tower and then proceed through the State Zoning process.
