Whats going on with the space next to HomeGoods?

It was just short of one year ago that HomeGoods opened its doors in Copps Hill Plaza, occupying 25,000 sq feet of the space that housed Kohl's. The entire space is approximately 65,000 square feet.

So what's up with the remaining 40,000 sq ft of space? There are many rumors floating around town regarding new tenants who will join HomeGoods at 125 Danbury Road (Michaels? Marshalls?)

Today, we spoke with Regency Center's Eric Davidson, Senior Manager who is in charge of communications. Davidson said that a lease "should hopefully be signed soon" for a portion of the remaining space (16,000 square feet to be exact).

Once the lease has officially been signed, we will be able to announce the new tenant.

Davidson did say, "We’re currently targeting soft goods merchants for the remaining balance [of the space]." BTW: "soft goods" include apparel and bedding.

Stay tuned!
