It’s that time of year again… the annual Erik F. Hoag Alumni Hockey Game at the Winter Garden Ice Arena!
In keeping with tradition, the game will be held on Friday, November 25, at 10 a.m., and all former Ridgefield High School hockey players are invited to play.
The RHS Varsity Hockey team plays the returning alumni in a non-checking, fun game which serves as a fundraiser for the Erik Hoag Scholarship Fund.
The game is named in honor of Erik F. Hoag, who played hockey in the Ridgefield youth and high school systems. Erik constantly provided a sense of teamwork, competitive spirit, and fun on the ice; and made the game special for all his teammates.
New this year is an Alumni only hockey contest in addition to a select team to face off against our current Varsity Ice Hockey team!

Friends, fans, and Ridgefielders are invited to this fun morning of friendship, games, and rivalry… you can even get a first glance at the current RHS Varsity team! New this year is breakfast starting at 9 am, Tiger Paw Face Painting and raffles.
Money is raised by charging the alumni a fee to play in the game and by selling game tickets. Current Ridgefield Lions/RAHA hockey players get in free if they wear their jersey.
In 1996 the Erik F. Hoag Memorial Scholarship was established at Ridgefield High School, by the Hoag Family and the RHS Boys Hockey Booster Club. The scholarship is awarded yearly to the senior who best exemplifies a winning attitude, and abounding love of the game of ice hockey and promotes camaraderie among team players.
