What makes you crack a smile in Ridgefield? Meet Brooke Thaler

Summer Smiles in Ridgefield

Enjoying summer days close to home, at events and venues unique to your hometown, are some of the most memorable experiences in life (plus, you can get cozy in your own bed at the end of a fun-filled day).

Our series “What makes you crack a smile” highlights the local people, places and events that make our community an enjoyable place to live.

Tell us about your favorite summertime destination in Ridgefield

The Biergarten at Nod Hill! It's such a fun place to sit outside with friends and relax. Great beer, music, and the food trucks are always so good too (especially the Chamo - my favorite!). I also love being able to go to Pure Barre more often in the summer - I teach and coach at Wooster, so the school year is pretty busy and the summer allows me to spend more time there.

What community event do you look forward to attending? How does it make you feel?

The Margarita 5K! I love that it's an evening run, which gives it more of a party atmosphere, which definitely helps motivate you, especially around the Norran's Ridge spot. I am also pretty excited to go to Jessie's Girl at the Playhouse on the 22nd!

What summer activity in your town makes you crack a smile?

Do you have a cherished memory of summer in your Ridgefield?

My kids are teenagers now, but we used to love going to the Carnival, fireworks, and parades... but definitely swim team and just spending long days in our neighborhood at the Mimosa Pool.
