On Saturday, September 25 at 1:39 am, Ridgefield Police officers responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Danbury Road (Route 7) near the Route 35 intersection in Ridgefield.
Police say that a vehicle was traveling north on Danbury Road when it crossed over into the southbound lane striking a southbound vehicle. Operators of both vehicles and the passenger in the northbound vehicle had to be extricated and transported to the Danbury Hospital for evaluation of their injuries.
According to Ridgefield police, Danbury resident Nicholas Vega, age 25, the operator of the northbound vehicle was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. The passenger of the vehicle was Stefanie Ruiz, age 21 of Stamford.
