Three girls recognized in Hartford
After months of campaigning on topics near and dear to them, three girls were recognized in Hartford for winning the Ms President US election for their respective CT towns.
CT State Representative John Frey and CT State Senator Will Haskel awarded citations to Juliette Arencibia, Ms President US Ridgefield (Elementary School) whose campaign focused on Venezuela’s Malnutrition Crisis. Also receiving citations in Hartford were Ms President US of Danbury, Kylie Macancela, who sought to raise awareness about Internet Safety, and Ms President US Hamden, Gopika Sheth, who addressed the critical need for Transportation Access.
Ms President US is a 501(c)(3); a non-partisan, non-profit, community-based initiative dedicated to inspiring and preparing girls to aim for the highest civic leadership positions and know they can achieve them.
Since the program’s launch in September 2017, more than 120 girls in grades 4th to 8th have participated in monthly civic leadership sessions in Ridgefield and Weston, facilitated by community leaders and high school girls serving as Mentors.
Enrollment for the 2019-2020 year will be open soon. To pre-enroll as a participant or mentor, visit: https://mspresidentus.org/
