Kindness Mural Unveiled on Sunday, Reflects Ridgefield's Values of Inclusion

The Ridgefield Youth Commission (RYC) is pleased to unveil and celebrate its Kindness Mural on Sunday, June 10 at 1:00 pm.

The RYC has been working for a year to create this mural for the Ridgefield community. The abstract mural serves as a visible reminder of our town's values of kindness and inclusion in the face of anti-Semitic and racist graffiti.

Joanne and Bruce Hunter, who own the Art Spot in Danbury, were commissioned for the project. They worked with dozens of Ridgefield community members in March to create this mosaic mural.

Our June 10th event will begin at 1:00pm. The Ridgefield Chorale will perform and speakers will include: First Selectman, Rudy Marconi; Scotts Ridge Middle School principal, Tim Salem; Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield Executive Director, Mike Flynn; and Jason Cianciotto, Executive Director of the Tyler Clementi Foundation.

Please join us for music and refreshments as we dedicate a day to tolerance alongside our friends and fellow community members at the Stand Up to Hate event just down the street!

We're so excited to see you there!
