Last night, Ridgefield Fire Department battled a fire at 91 Limekiln Road. There were no injuries and the Fire Marshal is currently investigating the incident.
According to Ridgefield Fire Chief Kevin Tappe, a senior woman living alone in the house smelled smoke. Upon searching her home, she found fire in a closet. She evacuated her home and called 911.
Ridgefield Fire Fighters were able to put out the blaze. Tappe said there was fire and heat damage to part of the first floor and smoke damage to 2nd floor.
The senior woman relocated with relatives.
