The Dan Band will exercise their comedic chops at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, May 17, at 8 p.m. Dan Finnerty became a household name when he appeared in the hit film Old School as the foul-mouthed wedding singer who performed his now-infamous rendition of "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Finnerty has also appeared in Todd Phillips movies, Starsky & Hutch and The Hangover. The Dan Band is now a cult hit that has garnered rave reviews from The New York Times, The L.A. Times, Variety and Rolling Stone. Bissell House (378 Main St., Ridgefield) will pour a free glass of house wine or draught beer with dinner the night of this show when tickets/stubs are presented. This event is part of the Clark Construction Comedy Series.
The Dan Band is well known for its covers of originally female-performed pop songs, with added obscenities and swearing. Their live show has become a staple of Los Angeles nightlife, with Entertainment Weekly naming it "the hottest ticket in town". Their TV concert special The Dan Band: I Am Woman aired on Bravo and was directed by McG with Steven Spielberg as executive producer.
