A Very Special Jewelry, Accessory and Pottery Trunk Show at Riverbend Design Studio

For one day, in Ridgefield only, a Special Jewelry and Pottery Trunk Show...

On Wednesday, July 13th, from 12 Noon to 6 pm, Riverbend Design Studio, 139 Ethan Allen Highway, Ridgefield, is proud to host a Trunk Show of two world-renowned jewelry design artisans and a local decorative stoneware designer.

Isha Elafi of Bali will be showing her new jewelry line which incorporates macramé knots in intricate patterns, colorful cords, beautiful semiprecious stones set in Sterling Silver, semiprecious stones including opals, turquoise, amethyst, lapis, malachite, carnelian, tiger eye, jaspers, aquamarine, citrine, quartz, pearls, coral, and Sterling Silver beads.  Isha and three lovely Balinese ladies work together to create each unique piece.  The threads are hand-dyed to get exact colors to match the radiant stones and beads.  As each piece is being made, Isha and her workers actually sing and weave a prayer into the threads and stones hoping to impart happiness on the soon-to-be owner.  Each piece is light to wear and becomes softer with age.  It is washable with gentle soap and toothbrush.  Her designs can be found throughout the world, and each unique jewelry piece is a work of art.

Sasha Samuel, a New York-based jewelry designer, will be bringing her couture headpieces, hair ornaments and accessories to Ridgefield for the Trunk Show.   Her collection is inspired by the romantic and feminine styles of the 1920's ~ couture headpieces from deco appliqués, bound with braided metallic threads from the turn of the century, and accented with vintage rhinestone appliques, ribbons, trims, bows and flowers.  Her handmade headpieces have been featured in fashion magazines, style blogs, and independent music videos and are worn by brides, fashion stylists, and Hollywood starlets such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyonce, Maggie Gylenhaal and Rihanna.

Prices begin under $100 and a portion of the proceeds will go to the charity, B3 (Builders Beyond Borders).

The studio will also be featuring, Dr. Mark Schpero DDS, who creates mostly decorative ceramic bowls, plates and wall hanging stoneware.  Dr. Schpero studied at the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven, and thereafter at George Street Pottery, also in New Haven, with Maishe Dickman.  For more information on Dr. Schpero, Isha Elafi or Sasha Samuel, contact Riverbend Design Studio at 203/493-5024.
