The HGTV show "Property Brothers" with Jonathan and Drew Scott begin shooting April 18 with 16 homes in Westchester County. However, they are still casting for people who are looking to buy a fixer-upper. Go to the Facebook page, www.facebook.com/PropertyBrothers and apply.
There are some requirements for prospective homeowners. Laura Reiter, series producer for "Buying & Selling," says half the people who take part say working with the Scott brothers is better than getting a renovation, by the way. The producers encourage anyone meeting the requirements to apply. You end getting about $20,000 value toward your renovation of 3-4 rooms done in 6-7 weeks.
Prospective homeowners should:
- Be moving to Westchester or Fairfield County, Connecticut.
- Be 30-40 minutes from White Plains.
- Be buying and renovating a 'fixer-upper'.
- Be outgoing, energetic, opinionated and fun.
- Need expert design and construction help.
- Have a minimum renovation and design budget of $100,000+ (depending on scope of work).
- Be able to make quick decisions in order to keep to tight timelines.
- Be enthusiastic about working with experts who have the design and construction know-how to help create your dream home.
