On Saturday, November 23, Coalhouse Pizza, in partnership with Two Roads Brewing Company and OmNomCT, will be hosting a day full of brunch, pizza, great food, live music, and 52 brews on tap to benefit Community Plates, the CT based food rescue organization. Gerard Robertson, owner of Coalhouse Pizza, will donate 10% of all sales and take-out orders that day to Community Plates. Gerard said, "I've known about Community Plates for a while and wanted to find a way to help them continue their mission to end hunger in Fairfield County. This is an important time of year to help out, as the holidays are near and we stop to remember what we're most thankful for."
The day will start off at 10 a.m. with Coalhouse Pizza's regular menu and brunch menu, featuring beer-infused cocktails, bottomless mimosas, Irish breakfast, corned beef hash, and even do-it-yourself breakfast pizzas. Then, at 3, Coalhouse will stop serving brunch and will focus on their popular menu that will include a special Thanksgiving Plate pizza.
During the day, customers can also meet with Meghan Zachry of Two Roads Brewing Company. She'll be on hand talking about Two Roads beer and offering up speciality flights for purchase so people can get a nice sampling of their brews. Customers will not only be able to try Two Roads' most popular beers like Ol' Factory Pils and Worker's Comp Saison, but they can try the brand new Holiday Ale and Route of All Evil, as well as a rare cask-conditioned beer.
Visitors to Coalhouse Pizza will also be able to learn more about Community Plates and how to get involved. The day of fundraising will wrap up with the live music of Willfull Misconduct starting at 8 p.m.
