The Newtown Tax Collector is reminding residents that it is time to pay your local taxes!
To ease the burden of having to physically appear at the Tax Collector’s Office, we have created alternative payment methods for you to consider.
1) For credit card payment: A convenience fee is 2.5% of the payment with a minimum charge of $2.00.
2) For debit card payment (VISA): A flat fee of $3.95 is charged.
3) For electronic checks: A flat fee of $2.00 for a payment up to $10,000 is charged; a flat fee of $10.00 for payment that exceeds $10,000 is charged.
4) For payment via the Internet: go to newtown-ct.gov for information. A convenience fee is charged.
5) For payment by phone, call 1-866-873-9160. A convenience fee is charged.
Please note that all fees are created and collected by the vendor and not by the Town of Newtown.
