Jet Blue will suspend flights out of JFK and LaGuardia airports as of 5 pm today. The suspension will continue until at lest 10 am Tuesday, with all flights restored by 3 pm Tuesday. According to Jet Blue the suspension is necessary because delays and cancellations during this week's winter storm placed planes and crews away from their previously scheduled routes. Though the airline says that it has been working to repair schedules by "by bringing crews and planes back into position" additional time is needed to resume normal operations. The FAA strictly regulates the number of hours many airline personnel can work and according to Jet Blue " further cancellations are still occurring as crews exceed their allowed duty times."
