Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
Meet Christa Martino VP of Business Development at Hush Meditation and Wellness Center.
Why did you start your business?
We are family and female-owned and we started Hush because we have experienced the benefits of alternative wellness services like we offer and wanted to create a space where they are accessible to everyone and all offered under one roof.
What is your best-selling product/service?
Infrared sauna and cold plunge, as well as lymphatic drainage and traditional massage.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
When we host private events and mixers, we use local businesses for food and drinks. Most of our reiki, massage and stretch therapists that we collaborate with to provide services at Hush are solo entrepreneurs.
Yes, in the year plus that we've been open, we pivoted the services we offer based on client requests and feedback. Rather than traditional meditation classes, we offer sound bath meditations. We discontinued a meditation pod service based on client feedback and added an infrared sauna and cold plunge. We are in the process of adding IV drip therapy services.
Hush is located at 6 Glenville Street in Greenwich.
