The 20th Annual Sole Sisters Luncheon on April 24 will raise money to fund invaluable community solutions.
GREENWICH, Conn., MARCH 27, 2025 – The Greenwich United Way (GUW) Sole Sisters rallied to support Filling in the Blanks this week, packing nearly 600 meals for children in need. With its motto of “stepping up to help others step forward,” Sole Sisters helps fund community solutions in the areas of education, self-sufficiency and health. A GUW partner charity, Filling in the Blanks fights childhood hunger by providing children in need with meals on the weekends.
“Filling in the Blanks is a vital community resource, helping nourish those children in our town facing food insecurity. Our Sole Sisters are proud to support the organization’s efforts,” said David Rabin, CEO of Greenwich United Way.
“The Greenwich United Way has been a partner with Filling in the Blanks since 2019, working to increase the food security of Greenwich residents. The organization has supported our meal programs with funding and their time volunteering in the warehouse to pack weekend meal bags for thousands of children in Fairfield County,” said Kristin Thomas, grant writer for Filling in the Blanks. “We rely on volunteers to pack four meals and four snacks for each child to bridge the weekend gap when they are not receiving food from their schools, after-school programs, or camps. The Sole Sisters group worked as a team to assemble the bags that will be delivered directly to children who would have otherwise gone hungry. Filling in the Blanks is so thankful for our work together for the most vulnerable in our community.”
