The Greenwich Historical Society invites you & your family to its Fall Scarecrow Festival, set for Saturday, Oct. 19, from 11 am-3pm!
This will be a festive and fun-filled day! Compete in a scarecrow-building competition with the chance to win five exciting prizes, dance to live bluegrass & swing music by Too Blue and enjoy hot dogs, chili and snacks from Burke Catering.
Make sure you also leave time to explore GHS's newly opened exhibition, "Greenwich During the Revolutionary War: A Frontier Town on the Front Line", to learn about how the lives of all those living in Greenwich were forever changed when war arrived at their front doors.
Afterward, live like you’re a Patriot Spy for the day by making your own tricorn hat, learn to write messages with a quill and complete a top-secret mission before the Festival ends.
This year’s scarecrow competition categories will be: Most Artistic, Most Traditional, Most Revolutionary, Scariest and Grand Prize Winner. Prizes have been generously donated by Sophia’s Costumes and Gifts, the Bruce Museum, the Clay Arts Center, the New York Historical Society, Athena Books, Funky Monkey and Smart Kids. Judges will award prizes to winners at the end of the event.
