Author Jeff Cooper to Share Insights from His Legal Thriller on Embezzlement

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich attorney and law professor Jeff Cooper will speak at the Historical Society’s April 9th Local Spotlight Book Talk from 2 – 3 pm on the creative inspiration for his recently published thriller: The Final Account. In his highly regarded novel, a lawyer catches his well-connected senior partner embezzling funds from a millionaire’s estate, leading to a far larger conspiracy involving some of Connecticut’s most powerful figures who will do anything to keep from being exposed. The sequel to Cooper’s best-selling After the Fact, the book won the Independent Press Award and praise from the Midwest Book Review which said the book “will delight seasoned thriller audiences…the events ring with an authenticity and attraction that makes the book nearly impossible to put down.”

A graduate of Harvard College, Yale Law School and New York University School of Law, Cooper spent much of his career at law firms and trust banks fictionalized in The Final Account and other novels. He resides in Greenwich where he has served on the RTM, as a Justice of the Peace and a director of several non-profit organizations.

The lecture is part of Greenwich Historical Society’s Local Spotlight Book Talks designed to forge strong and meaningful connections between talented local authors and the community. Books may be purchased at the Museum Store in advance, or on the day of the program, for signing by the author. Admission to the talk is FREE, but space is limited, and registration is recommended. Greenwich Historical Society is located at 47 Strickland Rd., Cos Cob.
