Fairfield, CT - On Thursday, Oct. 19, Fairfield Police officers responded to the North Benson Road and Barlow Road area after a resident reported hearing gunshots during the overnight hours. When Officers responded, they located a vehicle with several bullet holes in a driveway nearby. After officers secured the area, Fairfield Detectives responded for further follow up and learned that this incident was a domestic relationship situation.
The Fairfield Quality of Life Unit was able to link the victim's ex-boyfriend, Christopher Naber, to the shooting. Naber had been involved with a domestic violence incident one month prior in Hamden. As a result, an active protective order was in place, protecting the victim from Naber at the time of this incident. Later that day, the QOL Unit obtained several search warrants for Naber and his property in Hamden.
With the assistance of the Hamden Police Department's Major Crime Unit, Intel Unit and Emergency Services Unit, as well as the Bridgeport Regional Auto Theft Task Force, Naber was taken into custody following the execution of the search warrants at 42 Fairview Avenue, Hamden. During the execution of the search warrant, detectives seized several firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs and evidence believed to connect Naber to the shooting. Naber was taken into custody by the Hamden Police Department and charged with Violation of a Protective Order and multiple firearm and drug offenses. He is currently being held on a $1,000,000 bond by Hamden.
