
Fairfield, CT -- Rocco F. Pugliese, age 84, beloved husband of Rosalia Bukovec Pugliese, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2016 in Bridgeport Hospital.
In addition to his devoted wife Rosalia, Rocco's memory will be cherished by his children, Susan Pugliese, of Fairfield, Jim Pugliese and his wife, Kathy, of North Haven, Joanie Wlochowski and her husband, Jason, of Ivoryton, Thomas Pugliese and his wife, Amy, of Southington; his grandchildren, whom he adored, Jacob and Julia Wlochowski, Steven and Kaitlyn Pugliese, Caprina, Brie, and Croix Pugliese; two sisters, Anna Pugliese, of Mount Vernon, NY, MaryAnn Russo and her husband, Joseph, of Courtland Manor, NY; sister in law, Ann Schindler and her husband, Bernhard, of Fairfield; one niece, Linda Russo and two nephews, Steven Russo and Robert Schindler. He was predeceased by one sister, Rose McMahon.
Born in New York City, Rocco grew up in Mount Vernon, NY. After serving in the United States Army during the Korean War, he moved to Bridgeport and settled in Fairfield over 60 years ago. He worked for the United Illuminating Company for 37 years before retiring as a shift supervisor in the power plant. A man of many talents, Rocco proudly built his family's home. A devout Catholic, Rocco was a member of Holy Cross Church. While he enjoyed boating, playing chess, and ballroom dancing, his favorite time was spent with family. He was a lifelong fan of New York's Giants and Rangers. He will be remembered as an honest, hard-working man who cared deeply about his family.
