Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community.
Meet Nick Castiglione owner of Cosmos Bagels & Cafe.
Why did you start your business?
I opened Cosmos Bagels to bring the Darien community a great, quality-driven space where all are welcomed and feel at home.
What is your best-selling product/service?
Our best-selling product is our Everything NYC...A NYC Everything bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomato, capers and red onion.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
We source our bagels from NYC (Ess-A Bagels), our smoked salmon comes from Mt Kisco Smokehouse and our coffee is from Irving Farm Roasters in Dutchess County.
Have you "reimagined" your small business?
We are trying to break the stereotype of what a bagel place is deemed to be. The aesthetics are beautiful and clean, Our customer service is friendly and on point and our community outreach is ever-growing!
Nick nominates Zen Cha Matcha in Darien to be featured next!
