Darien Police Promotes Detective Gregory Benedetto to the Rank of Sergeant

On behalf of the Darien Police Commission, I am very pleased to announce the following promotion: Detective Gregory Benedetto to the rank of Sergeant, effective Sunday, December 22, 2024

Sgt. Benedetto has been with the Department for 20 years and currently serves in the Detective Division.

This promotion reflects the hard work and dedication that Sgt. Benedetto has put in and prioritized. I would like to commend him for a job well done and wish him the best of luck in his new role within our agency. This achievement is not only notable but also demonstrates the Police Commission’s and the department’s confidence in his ability to hold a supervisory position and carry it out at a high level.

I would also like to congratulate all of the candidates in this promotional process. They clearly put in a lot of hard work and are sure to continue to have promising careers within our agency. You all should be proud of your efforts, and I thank you for that.

A formal Promotional Ceremony for Sgt. Benedetto will be held on a date to be announced in the near future.
