The Public Relations Coordinator is part of Immaculate High School’s Advancement Team and  responsible for all content messaging and PR campaigns for advancement projects including alumni, admissions, and special events.

This 10 month position at Immaculate High School is part-time, 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and is effective immediately.

Complete job description, responsibilities and requirements:

The Public Communications Coordinator is responsible for the public relations initiatives. As a member of the Immaculate High School’s Advancement Team, this position requires ensuring that all content messaging for advancement projects, including alumni, admissions and special events are provided with effective promotional materials, forms, and data analysis; creates, manages and implements PR campaigns with the goal of enriching the school’s position within the public eye; maintains a strong relationship with the school’s Digital Design and Media Communications Director as well as all members of the Advancement Office.

The Public Communications Coordinator is expected to ensure that media coverage and/or photographers are assigned to special events as needed and promotes the school mission statement and Catholic values in all communications. Working Hours:  8am-1pm Monday through Friday. Benefits are in accordance with the IHS Support Personnel Policy Handbook.  Salary agreement is offered September 1 through June 30 of each fiscal school year.

Qualifications:  

Must have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability to use all forms of media and communication. Bachelor degree in public relations, journalism, communications, English, or business with the understanding that participation in ongoing professional development during employment is expected. Knowledge and some experience with Adobe Suite software.

Responsibilities:

-Attend weekly communication planning meetings and other team meetings as deemed necessary by the school administration and Director of Advancement.

-Work with Digital Design and Media Communications Director to create ad layout and design that complements written content.

-Work with Director of Admissions and Advancement to create content for advertising and marketing.

-In collaboration with Director of Admissions, Director of Advancement and Director of Alumni write, copyedit/proofread and revise communications content for literature, press releases, blast e-mails, website, e-releases, and-articles for e-news, feature articles for print media as well as social media content and speaking proposals.

-Work with school President, Director of Advancement, Director Admissions and Director of Alumni to determine event and manage publication expenses to budget.

-Manage all informational material required for parent weekly e-news and monthly public e-newsletter by obtaining information either face-to-face, phone or email. Using Adobe Suite, submit draft on or before every Friday morning for publication review by school President and contributing authors. Once approved, send e-news to constituents.

-Under the direction of the Digital Design and Media Communications Director, learn how to manage specific Final-site communication modules, lists, forms.

-Collaborate with the Director of Advancement, Alumni, Admissions and Communications/Digital Design to coordinate scheduling and logistics to ensure proper planning for public communication information for all school events.

-Plan and direct public relations programs to create and maintain a favorable public image.

-Assist with all school promotional and marketing strategic planning.

-Propose and collaborate with teams on the creation of specific thought leadership materials to further engage and inform community about IHS innovations in education.

-Manage and update regularly information on Great Schools, Private School Review and other school search engines for students and parents. -Work with advertisers for timely and useable ad submissions.

-Identify, develop and execute communications strategies for key media contacts and customer references.

- Assist with identifying new target markets for communicating and disseminating promotional and marketing materials.

-Develop and maintain new and existing media contacts for press, DOB/other. -Research media coverage and industry trends.

-Identify, develop and execute communications strategy for key media contacts and customer references.

-Coordinate press interviews, press coverage of school-sponsored events. -Be primary school contact for all press, publication, advertising inquiry/other.

-Prepare briefing materials when deemed necessary by the school administration.

-Support the school’s branding and messaging in all external and internal communications.
