If you've been to the Danbury Fair Mall recently, then you've probably noticed some major changes going on down by the Sears end of the mall.
Last year, Sears downsized from a two level retailer to a one level, and the upper floor was bought by the Irish retailer Primark. For the past several months the company has been hard at work hiring managers and sales associates, as well as transforming the retail space into the next big store to hit Danbury. The store officially opened last week.
Primark, according to their site, opened their first U.S. store in Boston last year and has been growing ever since.
Primark opened its first store in Dublin in 1969 under the name Penneys and today operates in over 270 stores in nine countries in Europe and growing with the first US store opening in Boston in 2015.
To celebrate the store's grand opening on June 11, TV star Victoria Justice made a special appearance, meeting and greeting the first 100 customers and giving them $25 gift card to spend during their first Primark experience.
