
MCCA (Midwestern Connecticut Council of Alcoholism) is proud to announce the opening of their newest outpatient addiction treatment facility in New Haven, CT. Treatment for alcohol and drug addiction, as well as mental health disorders is offered at the 419 Whalley Avenue location.
Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) is one of the primary services offered at this new facility for people needing treatment for alcohol and drug addiction. IOP is an excellent option for people who require therapy but are unable put their life on hold and enter into an inpatient program. Research shows counseling and group support is one of the most effective ways to treat addiction. The New Haven facility also offers groups for early intervention, relapse prevention, anger management, as well as treatment for mental health disorders.
Bill Okwuosa brings a wealth of experience and dedication to helping others to his new role as Program Director in New Haven. Bill previously served as the Executive Director of Open Door and Hope Works in Norwalk, where he oversaw the management of a 98-bed recovery and treatment shelter. During his time in Norwalk, Bill earned a reputation as a true champion in the fight for the underprivileged. Prior to this he was the District Regional Programs Director at The Connection Inc. in New Haven.

We are invested in bringing hope and help to people who are displaced and struggling with addiction," said Okwuasa. "It's time to break this epidemic, reunite families and regain our loving community."
In addition to New Haven, MCCA offers outpatient treatment in six additional locations: Danbury, Ridgefield, New Milford, Waterbury, Torrington and Derby. Inpatient and Detox are available at MCCA's main campus in Danbury. Family support services (How to Cope) are offered in Ridgefield and Danbury. And gender-specific long-term residential treatment facilities are located in Kent and Sharon, with transitional housing in Danbury.
MCCA is the primary provider of substance abuse prevention, evaluation and treatment services in western Connecticut. "We believe that alcoholism, drug addiction, problem gambling and co-occurring disorders are treatable illnesses and that those affected - including other family members - can recover."
