Central Middle School Library Media Specialist Jennifer Lau has been appointed the District's Research Manager, reporting to Chief Information Officer (CIO) Phil Dunn. While she is expected to assume the role before the close of the current school year, Ms. Lau is working very closely with the administration to determine an adequate transition date and process that best serves Central Middle School students.
As a GPS staff member since 2000, Jen Lau "impressed the review committees with her blend of educational expertise, GPS experience, and research/analytical abilities" wrote Dr. McKersie in an internal memo to staff. CIO Phil Dunn remarked, "Jen has an extraordinary blend of analytical, instructional and communication skills, which make her a great fit for this role.”
The Research Manager is responsible for recommending the collection of specific data to aid in decision-making processes, to provide policy analyses based upon statistical models, and to assist in the development of statistical reporting.
Ms. Lau received a Bachelors of Science in business administration from the University of Denver, Denver, CO, a Masters of Business Administration from Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Evanston, ILL, and a Masters of library science from Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven, CT.
