51st Grand Reopening Sale at The Rummage Room, 191 Sound Beach Ave., Old Greenwich, CT
Starts Monday, August 24, 10:00 am-5:00 pm and continues all week.
Hours: Monday-Friday 10 am-5 pm, Saturday 10 am-1 pm
The Rummage Room, which celebrated 50 years of donating to women’s and children’s organizations last year, began in 1964 as an annual rummage sale held at The First Congregational Church of Greenwich. This event became so successful that it was transformed into a business housed in a storefront at 191 Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich and dubbed “the best little shop in town!”
Today, still operated by the Women’s Fellowship of the church, The Rummage Room is a great place to find a bargain, donate your new or gently used items and/or make a tax deductible donation. Over these past 51 years, The Rummage Room has been responsible for contributing well over 4 million dollars to local, national and international benevolent organizations focused on women, children and families.
And be sure to say “farewell” to Manager Maria Drieghe when you stop in at The Rummage Room. She is retiring after 20 years of volunteering and also managing the shop. There will be a special Open House Reception to honor Maria on Friday, August 28 between 10 am and 5 pm. You will also have a chance to meet the new Manager, Leanne Meyers, who will be on hand. Be sure to stop by!
