Four Seas: The Camelot of Ice Cream

Here at Trial by Era, we fancy ourselves as connoisseurs of just about everything. And, naturally, our expertise extends just as readily to food as it does to golf courses and style. Therefore, when we say that Four Seas Ice Cream in Centerville, Cape Cod remains to this day the best ice cream we have had the pleasure of tasting, you should to listen to us.
Ever since 1960 when Dick Warren became the owner of Four Seas, he and his family have enticed locals and tourists alike with a mouthwatering array of flavors.

Along with offering traditional favorites like Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry, he creates such ingenious novelties as Penuche Pecan and Fresh Peach. What sets Four Seas' ice cream apart from all the rest, however, is its remarkably fluffy yet creamy texture; nowhere else in the world will you find such a heavenly blend of taste and melt-in-your mouth goodness.

Four Seas' ice cream is delicious enough for us to have ordered six quarts from them to ship down to Brookfield, CT last year, but the shop's history and charm are truly the whip cream, nuts, and cherry that complete the Four Seas sundae. Throughout Four Seas' prolific history are scattered countless awards, accolades, and remarkable events. Not only has Four Seas been named one of the top ten best ice creams in the United States by USA Today, it was a favorite of our favorite icon, John F. Kennedy.

JFK used to fly down ice cream to the White House, and Jackie even served her all-time favorite Fresh Peach ice cream at her rehearsal dinner and at her daughter Caroline's wedding in Hyannis port. And even closer to home for the guys at Trial by Era, Lifestyle editors Matt and Joe ate their first ice cream cone at Four Seas with their Grandpa, who they believe probably knew more about lifestyle than they could ever hope to find out.

With one visit, you, like us, will realize that Four Seas represents so much more than just a quaint ice cream shop. With each creaky opening of its nostalgically dilapidated doors, each glance around its 1940's light blue and aluminum-tinted diner-like interior, and each predictable stumble on its increasingly slanted floor, Four Seas will welcome you to the only place on Earth where a scoop of Camelot continues to impress and delight.
