Wooster Student Tyler Marcos Nationally Ranked in USA Fencing

The USA National Fencing Championships took place in Columbus OH, June 28 through July 7, 2013.

Tyler Marcos '16 of Purdys, NY, is a nationally ranked fencer who competes in Foil. At the National Championship he had a podium finish. In the Men's 14 and Under, Tyler finished 6th out of 228 competitors. In the Men's Cadets, 17 and Under, Tyler finished 26th out of 226 competitors.

These finishes, along with Tyler's participation in other national tournaments this past year, allowed him to earn national points in each category.

Tyler finished the 2012-2013 season ranked #9 in the United States in the Men's 14 and Under category and ranked #38 in the United States in the Men's 17 and Under category. Additionally, Tyler has earned a national rating of a B-2013.

Tyler trains at The Fencing Academy of Westchester in Hawthorne, NY. His coach is a 2 time Olympian from Kazakhstan, Slava Grigoriev.
