The Frosty Bear Ice Cream Gazebo, featuring Longford's small-batch premium ice creams and sorbets and located at Christie's Country Store, 161 Cross Highway, is donating 50% of its after-tax sales profits to Wakeman Town Farm and Sustainability Center, on Sunday, October 30, from 10am to 6pm. .
The Town Farm, a model facility created to educate the community with local healthy food production, responsible land stewardship, sustainable practices and community service orientation. Activities include educational workshops, student internships, hosting after school environmental clubs, growing fruits and vegetables, animal husbandry, providing a farm stand and CSA pickup location.
