On June 21, The Rotary Club of Ridgefield Sunrise was pleased to announce the winner of their “Design Our Banner” contest at their official Charter dinner. The purpose of the contest was to design a new banner for their newly organized club -- a nonprofit organization affiliated with Rotary International.  Although the contest was opened to all geographic areas, including Internationally, a local 10th grade student from Ridgefield High School, Ted Mello (15), created the winning first place design.  As stated in the rules of the contest, the “designer of the winning entry shall be awarded a $500 U.S. Savings Bond at the unfurling of the new banner at the club’s chartering ceremony in June.”  In addition, the judges of the contest decided to award a runner up $250 U.S. Savings Bond to Lia Bozzone (12), also of Ridgefield, for her banner design.  The Rotary Club of Ridgefield Sunrise would like to thank all of the entrants to the contest for their submissions and congratulate the winners.  The club meets every Tuesday morning at 7:15am at The Bissell House banquet room on the lower level.  For more information or to join the club, please contact the club’s secretary, John Metzger, at 203-438-6444.
