With continuing concern throughout the Ridgefield community regarding the use of drugs and alcohol among our youth, the Ridgefield Coalition Against Substance Abuse (RCCASA), co-chaired by Rudy Marconi and Deborah Low, invites parents with children of all ages to attend a special presentation demonstrating how we can work together to build a strong and asset-rich community.

HELPING OUR CHILDREN BE GREAT ~ a free, energizing parent workshop on Thursday, November 17th, from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Ridgefield Boys and Girls Club (childcare provided for school-aged children) or Friday, November 18th, from 10:30 am to Noon at Scotts Ridge Middle School.

Jim Conway, of The Search Institiute, will lead the discussion helping us learn how to build emotional and social assets for our own children and all the young people in our community.

Since 1990, the Search Institute has researched young people and studies of more than 2.2 million young people in the United States consistently show that the more assets young people have, the less likely they are to engage in a wide range of high-risk behaviors and the more likely they are to thrive. Assets have power for all young people, regardless of their gender, economic status, family, or race/ethnicity.
