Whether it's ice hockey or field hockey, lacrosse or cross country -- student athletic performance can be greatly enhanced by gaining a better understanding of how their bodies move.
The Pilates Barre'snew, 6-week intensive program cuts across several disciplines to help your student become stronger, longer and more toned. Each week, we focus one one of three key practices -- Yoga, Mat/Tower Pilates and M.E.L.T. -- to guide young athletes toward peak performance and away from risk of injury. This course provides the ultimate in mind-body cross training, by rotating between three disciplines to help students reach fitness goals.
Course Description:
Athletes who focus on a particular sport often favor muscle groups on one side of the body. Eventually, this "muscle favoritism" can throw off the body's alignment and actually decrease overall performance. Mat/Tower Pilates focuses on the core, strengthening weaker muscles and achieving a truly balanced body. 2 classes.
Yoga. Yoga makes a perfect companion to any sport. Students learn to develop deep, relaxed breathing, which reduces performance anxiety and improves concentration. Our Yoga classes use props, focus on alignment, and equip athletes with increased flexibility, range of motion and endurance. 2 classes.
M.E.L.T. This revolutionary method teaches students techniques to ease aches and pains from both over training and stress-related injuries. Athletes will learn how to reduce inflammation and relieve "tight" muscles, as well as increase flexibility, mood and energy. 2 classes.
Class size is limited to only 9 students, and begins TODAY, Friday, October 28th, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm, and concluding on Friday, December 16th. No classes will be held on public holidays (November 11th and November 25th).
Student Pricing is $118 (including tax) for Six Weeks!
