Information on Mid-Year Exams at Ridgefield High School

A note from Ridgefield High School on Mid-Year Exams:
Midyear exams are scheduled to start on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 and continue through Friday, February 3. Because of the unpredictable nature of our weather, contingency plans include the following:
1. If a 2 hour delay exists on an exam day, the exams will be held as follows: The first exam will be given from 9:25 A.M. to 11:25 A.M., and the second exam will be given from 11:55 A.M. to 1:55 P.M. A Breakfast/Brunch Program will be served (e.g. sandwiches, pizza, breakfast items, etc). The buses will run at 2:05 P.M.
2. If there are one or two emergency school closings before the start of exams, exams will be held as scheduled.
3. If a snow day is declared during the midyear exam schedule, cancelled exams are administered on the next day back to school, and the exam schedule will continue in the original sequence.
4. Make-up exams for student absentees are assigned through the classroom teachers; make-up days and times are at the discretion of the faculty. Missed exams should be taken as quickly as possible. Two Saturday make-up days will be provided as well.
5. The second semester starts on Monday, February 6, 2012. Second semester schedules are available on the Campus Portal. Scheduling concerns need to be resolved with your counselor by Monday, January 30, 2012.
6. Students should report to school only on days they have exams. 7. Please report absences to the Attendance Office, 203-438-3785 extension 1378, as soon as possible, and no later than 15 minutes before the start of the student’s exam.

This exam schedule is organized by meeting pattern and not by day rotation: identified by course section number. Please refer to your course section numbers to determine when your exam will be administered. The first number in the last three digits of the course section (number after the dash) will determine the exam time. For example, Global History I Honors, course section number 3103-221 will be given at 9:50 a.m. on Friday, February 3rd.
